The CEO of Rabobank is very certain that its new Hamilton headquarters will be laid with wool carpets and arranged to be hoisted.

Todd Charteris said that some people suggest using synthetic carpet tiles is more appropriate because the carpet rolls are too large to be carried in the elevator.

He didn't have it at all.

Rabobank specializes in rural banking and relocated its headquarters from Wellington to the third and fourth floors of the Hamilton Center building.

"I think we need to find another way to solve this problem, because this is a new building, and we managed to find the right time to use a crane to roll up the carpet through a window that has not yet been installed (yet)."

Todd said it should soon be much easier for companies to insist on using wool on their premises.

"What the wool industry is developing is that soon you will be able to obtain carpet tiles made of wool carpets.

"I mean, this is a very good product; sustainable, produced on the farm, produced locally, I really urge all companies to think about it."

Rabobank purchased 3000 kilograms of wool from three of its customers for weaving carpets.

The shepherd hopes that the return of wool will increase. The wool check no longer includes the cost of shearing, and farmers now have to pay $2 for a sheep to remove the wool.
